In reply to ajay. Hi, the boat crossing from El Nido to Coron was not very rough in our experience, but if you're sensitive to sea sickness then it may not be the best option. I think I would fly in that case.
Once you get to Coron, the sea is very calm in that area and the boat rides are not long. Most of the dive sites are less than an hour from Busuanga.

hi,
how calm/rough is the sea there? i’m particularly susceptible to sea sickness so checking whether to fly between coron and el nido or take a flight. also, do you know how long the boat ride to the diving sites are in coron?

In reply to jack. Hi Jack! The snorkeling in Coron is all reached by boat. Sadly the mainland beaches and marinas don't have good snorkeling in either El Nido or Coron. You have to go somewhere by boat to get good snorkeling in either place. Coron just has better spots to do it in my opinion, and the boat ride to get to them is shorter.

Can you explain bit more about the snorkelling in Coron? How and where – Is this via boat tours or do you mean easy beach/marina access? Thanks for the great info!

In reply to Mark. I can't speak from experience there, but as long as you're comfortable getting on a boat, you can see lots of scenery in Palawan without any swimming or walking needed. Getting on and off the boats at each stop is usually a bit awkward so you may be limited there. Good luck!

We have visited both islands last month. As per our experience it's better to stay in Coron for hopping tours because we were less people in the boat (max 7-10 people) and the places we visited was less crowd, El Nido tours are always more crowded (20-25 people). But Coron has no beach in main island, El Nido has such amazing options such as Las Cabanas, Lio, Nacpan. I hope it will be useful for those reading this
